If you have any questions or are interested in working with me, I would love to hear from you.

About the Process

I offer counselling that is thoughtful, grounded, and intentionally collaborative. Clients often experience me as steady, authentic, and attentive. I aim to create a safe space for honest reflection while also helping bring clarity to complex emotional and relational patterns.

Therapy with me is not simply open-ended conversation, nor is it directive advice; it is purposeful work shaped by clear goals. Together, we identify what matters most to you and allow those goals to guide our sessions. I believe meaningful change occurs when we understand our core values and begin aligning our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours with them.

My approach is integrative rather than tied to a single modality. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, psychodynamic insight, and cognitive approaches depending on the needs of the individual or couple in front of me. I am particularly attentive to the role of emotion in shaping relationships and personal growth. Often, lasting change begins by giving ourselves permission to fully experience and process difficult emotions within a safe therapeutic relationship.

I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship challenges, faith questions, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting those wrestling with theological or philosophical questions, and I welcome thoughtful integration of faith when it is meaningful to the client. At the same time, I work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds and worldviews.

My aim in therapy is not only symptom relief, but deeper clarity, emotional maturity, and movement toward a life lived with integrity.

About Me

Scott Bjerkness, MDiv, RP, RCC, CCC Registered Psychotherapist

Hi. My name is Scott and I have been practicing psychotherapy for over five years, working with individuals and couples.

I have always been drawn to relational work. From my teenage years, I considered becoming a therapist, though my path initially led me into academia. I completed a Master’s degree in Philosophy with the intention of pursuing a career as a professor. Over time, however, I recognized that while I loved ideas and careful thinking, I was most alive in direct, meaningful conversations with people. After walking alongside close friends through difficult seasons of their lives, it became clear that psychotherapy was not simply an interest, but a vocation.

My academic background continues to shape my work. I value thoughtful reflection, intellectual honesty, and careful attention to the deeper questions that often sit beneath anxiety, relationship conflict, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in working with couples, young men, and clergy, and I have found it a privilege to support those navigating questions of faith, identity, and responsibility.

In addition to my professional life, I am married and the father of two young children. Family life continues to deepen my appreciation for the complexity of relationships, the demands of responsibility, and the importance of living with integrity.

I consider it an honour to accompany clients as they pursue greater clarity, emotional maturity, and alignment between their values and their daily lives.
